Monticello Hotel had a huge beacon on the roof that was used to illuminate the Monticello from the City in 1927.
Harry the fiberglass hotdog at Gibson’s (703 Hinton Avenue) He was once kidnapped from his previous location in Earlysville, later found ‘buried alive’ his arms had been broken off and his shoelaces were stolen – the local community of Earlysville raised $2,000 to restore him
